MY STORY
Art has always been my passion, but my path has been strewn with pitfalls. From my childhood dreams of becoming a dancer, to my chaotic path as a stylist and artist, I've often had to battle doubts, failures and imposter syndrome. But I never gave up.
Today, I'm reborn as Rudolf Cuchkin, exploring the art of pen drawing, a veritable meditation that allows me to refocus. I'm still building myself, day after day, convinced that my difference is a strength. Everyone writes their own score and plays it in their own way. Resilience is my greatest ally, and I've never stopped believing in my art. Never let obstacles extinguish your passion! Never forget that your dreams are possible, and that each step makes you stronger!
My Mission
My mission as an artist is to create an intimate and emotional connection with the viewer through my portraits. I seek to expose the beauty in masculine vulnerability, revealing deep and often hidden emotions. Through my work, I encourage everyone to accept themselves as they are, to embrace their own sensitivity and sensuality, while opening a space for empathy and acceptance of others. My art becomes a bridge between the intimate and the collective, offering an authentic vision of masculinity and the diversity of human experience.
Mes Values
My values as an artist are based on authenticity and sensitivity. I attach great importance to freedom of expression, the exploration of male sexuality and the representation of queer identities, while celebrating beauty in the simplicity of line and the depth of human emotion. My art reflects my pride, my independence and my desire to create an emotional connection with those who contemplate it.
My Vision
As an artist, I value authenticity, sensitivity and sensuality in the representation of men. My minimalist approach, using simple mediums such as ballpoint pen and pencil, enables me to capture the essence of my subjects with direct, uncluttered precision. The body becomes a powerful vector of emotion, with every line and detail expressing vulnerability, sensuality and intimacy. My work aims to reveal beauty in simplicity and bring complex emotions to life through sensitive and deep male portraits.
My Creative Process
1. The inspiration
That's where it all begins.
A word, a photo, a thought, an impulse, a feeling... My inspirations are diverse: masculinity in its widest meaning, mythology, eroticism, pornography, pictorial art, photography etc... it's above all a love story.
2. The creation
I usually work from photographs, but leave room for improvisation. I like to play with images.
Sometimes I do photomontages to pose and visualize my ideas.
3. The drawing
I lay down my first lines before moving on to the ballpoint pen to refine and perfect the drawing. I use thick, grainy paper, perfect for texture and effect. It's more sensual...
Drawing with a ballpoint pen
Favoring the ballpoint pen for my original drawings among a multitude of artistic mediums, I consider this technique unique, requiring mastery, concentration and patience. Each stroke, laid down with precision and reflection, represents a challenge whose outcome is more than worth the effort. Drawing with a ballpoint pen soothes me, offering a meditative experience where I concentrate fully on the present moment. Attaching particular importance to each creation, each drawing is an original and UNIQUE work, crafted with love and attention to detail. The interest of the original drawing lies in its sensory dimension, offering a unique and personal artistic experience.
The Triangle & the Eye: A Symbol Beyond Appearance.
I smile at the idea that some might mistake me for an Illuminati, but this symbol I've designed is much more than a mere representation. It urges us all to go beyond appearances and listen to our intuition, a lesson I learned during the blessed lockdown of 2020, a period of silence and getting back to basics that saw the birth of Rudolf Cuchkin.
The triangle embodies the transition between forms and states, the balance between the celestial and the terrestrial. As for the eye, it symbolizes truth and inner beauty, a constant reminder not to trust appearances. By uniting the triangle and the eye, I wanted to emphasize the importance of intuition and balance, inviting us to look beyond the visible and trust our inner perception.
